I am a homeowner!!

Well, people, after what seems like months and months of paperwork and waiting, I am officially the owner of my very own little house and I couldn't be more thrilled. I am so thankful I just feel like I could burst. I moved a couple days ago and am still in shock. I'll post pics soon, but in the meantime, I have a question for you artistic/interior design-savvy types: I would like to paint the boring white kitchen but the counter tops are a dark pewter almost green-ish color. The cabinets are a natural medium-color wood. Suggestions? Anyone have a favorite paint color they have used or seen? I welcome any ideas!

I want to come look at it first...Rachel Ray's kitchen on her show is green/red and yellow. That's actually a very cute combo, but not for everyone. You could always do khaki...a good stand-by. I need to see that green to be of much help.

I'm so excited for you! I was so thrilled to be a homeowner too. It's such an adult thing to do! You've come a long way from my swollen head roomie, Mel. So proud. So proud. :)

yeah!!!! congratulations!!! I agree with Rachel... I felt much more like a "real adult" when we bought a house... you would have thought that Iwould have become a real adult when I had kids, but those were still the college years for me! :-)
I cant wait to see pics of your new abode!

Congrats! I'm no help with decorating (no surprise there), but I do want to see some pictures - and soon! I'm so happy that you finally have a place you don't have to think about moving out of any time soon. YEAH!

Thanks, everyone! I sure have my work cut out for me. Rach, I like your idea of green, yellow, and red. I have some red and green accessories and the yellow would work well with the counter tops, I think. You have to come over soon and see it!

Congrats! I'll have to make a trip back to TX now that I am in a day's drive.

I hope to be a homeowner this time next year.
