That's right, folks. Brad and I took along a very small passenger! Having been married just a few months, you can see why this is what we call "the surprise of our lives." We are thrilled and still a little in shock that with an October due date, we'll have a two-month-old on our first anniversary! We know God's timing is always perfect... and He continues to teach both of us so much though we still feel like we have so much to learn. We can't wait to see where this new adventure will take us... and are incredibly thankful to have so much support along the way.
Here are a few lessons I have learned (or re-learned) lately:
1. God is in control, even when we think we are.
2. It is not possible to eat too much gelato.
3. It is very possible to eat too much pasta.
4. Pregnancy hormones and jetlag are a pretty brutal combination.
5. The European foot paddle for flushing a toilet is pretty much the greatest invention ever.

Congratulations! October, wow! And I totally agree with you on gelato and pasta. I remember not wanting to look at a pizza or pasta dish after my time in Italy. And searching for the perfect gelato is one of my favorite memories from Italy.
Oh Wow, you are going to be a mommy. How fun!!! Funny how life works sometimes huh. I am so excited for you guys. I will be watching for you at church to give you a hug. You may be nine months prego by the time I see you, but I am watching for you. Glad you got a fun trip in before the little one.
That photo doesn't even look real - it's too beautiful. And I'm so excited about the little one on the way! God does like to keep us on our toes!
Ahhhhh, Italia!! My most favorite place on Earth!! I am so jealous and happy that you got to see the country that I belong in! And a big congratulations is in order!! How exciting for you guys! I can't help but wonder if the "1st girl" is in your tummy right now!! :) Don't take too long for more pics!!!
Alright so I'm hoping for a girl too. With an October due date that will put your little one a grade behind Seth in school so future ACU roomate is out of the picture but... future wife is a strong possibility!!When you are picking out names make sure your girl choices sound good with Henderson and Jones. :)
Congrats Mel!!! I'm still trying to talk Mitch into the baby thing!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! We're so excited for y'all! Glad I found your blog just in time to see some Italy pics. Looking forward to those. Ahh gelato. . . .
Congratulations!!! What a surprise, huh?! You will be such a great mom!
WOW!!!! Congrats!! That is very exciting and I am sure surprising. I am so happy for you and can't wait to keep up with the pregnancy. I am feeling the prego pains with you right now.
